So I'm definitely a skeptic at heart when it comes to gadgets and claims. When I first saw a unit in operation at a local wine event, I immediately thought of science class and a spinner in a beaker, and then I thought, "So what's the big deal, and how the *&*#_@+! is that patented?" The lady helping at the bar (it was a non-profit cultural event) seemed to know quite a bit about it, and she said she didn't initially believe it was special either...and then she got one as a gift and she tried it and was an instant convert. So I tried a taste test there with a 2018 Sterling Cab. I was blown away. Not only was this rather young wine much less harsh/angry (think tannins, acid and pepper) but its character and structure were also changed undoubtedly like the same wine would be in about 10 years -- and this was accomplished in minutes."So tell me more about this decanter," I inquired. She explained that the spin of the liquid that is created by the unit was devised for optimal oxidation (think decanting). But she continued to explain that this is not all that occurs. She explained that the lights in the base of the unit (another patent) also create change in the liquid in the decanter, and that is where a lot of the added enhancement occurs (think aging). The wine's structure will become its best self, she explained. So I retried another taste test with a 2021 Sterling chardonnay, where traditional decanting doesn't often make as substantial a difference. The improvement was mind blowing!After the show I came back to the bar and, knowing that decanting doesn't work in general on spirits, but the lady at the bar had told me that it greatly improves spirits including even mediocre tequila, I asked her if she had tequila to try a taste test. I didn't expect the answer to be yes, but she said that they did have some in the back. She came back with Cuervo (ugh) and mentioned that she purposely chose it because it traditionally is NOT a sipping spirit. After about 6 minutes in the unit, I did the taste test. Mind blown again. I asked her what alchemy was at work here? She had a huge smile and said she loves it when people can’t believe the difference, just like her initially. So, after that I bought a unit and I've been using it for about six months. I love it and highly recommend it. I do recommend turning off the sort of annoying "ready" sound, which you have to read the manual to figure out how to do, but other than that small inconvenience, this is a 5/5 and I will be buying more as gifts. I’m gong to buy the case so I can take it with me and tell this story all over again and I can be the one having fun showing off.

YES, YES, YES!!! This decanter is the real deal. Great quality, makes the wine so much stronger and gives it a smooth taste. You can fit three bottles of wine but it’s best to use two max for room to swirl. Super easy to clean just get the bottle scrubber. Elegant looking.

Between the electrical charge and the blending, this really does a great job of opening wine. I've been playing with it for about a month, and testing it against different factors, like letting wine breathe for a few hours, or traditional decanting, and across a variety of cheaper and more expensive bottles, and I've got to say that I'm impressed. One particularly cheap red that had a lot of off notes like burned coffee or newspaper trimmings transformed itself into something that was like a tomato soup bouquet, like a real quality borscht, after using the Bevage. This is more than a kitchen gimmick, this will change the way that you entertain. Everyone that I've used it with has wanted an in depth scientific explanation of what the device does, so it's also an excellent conversation piece just by itself. The decanter is beautiful and you're really paying for actual results. For wine enthusiasts, I can't recommend it enough, it will take your entertaining to the next level.
